livetv tmpfs buffer cache

Hi,

I wanted to get rid of the hd disk buffering while watching livetv, so I
created a 256M tmpfs memory disk. This seems to be an adequate amout for
my needs, however when the disk fills up the stream will just freeze.

Do i have to set a size limit somewhere or is it even possible?

I did try to search for the answer for some time, but must be missing
something obvious.
