Hi,

I've upgraded to Hardy and now my resolution is maximum 1024x768. This is weird because in feisty I could go up to 1280x1024, which is the max resolution my LCD monitor can handle.

I have a X740 card (a sort of a X700). I've attached it via DVI, I had to force the "tmds" option to enable the display. Using the VGA monitor doesn't work, it gives me a black monitor.

Using IgnoreEDID doesn't work since it's not supported by the fglrx driver. Using modeline or modes either, just don't work.

Any help would be great appreciated.

Here's my xorg.conf file:

Thanks for posting a response to this thread. Your fix was a great help to me. I had the same problem and what I did was uninstall catalyst, remove the file as you suggested, re-install catalyst and then things worked fine.
