Like many others, can't get OS/hardware combination to work.

Followed the instructions in the thread:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=704088

That at least got a Wireless connection to show up in the Network Settings.

I enterd my ESSID, Select WPA2 Personal, and entered the password.

Configuration is set to DHCP.

After the "configuring" message, I get the proper DNS server listed, and the proper search domains.

However, I cannot open any web pages.

When I go to network tools, there are two(2) wireless interface devices listed (wlan0, wlan0:avahi)

Neither device has a valid IP address for my network, and BOTH give an "interface does not exist" error when I try the configure button on the network tools.

Lastly, I am BRAND NEW to linux/unix.

The question: What's next? What do I still need to do/undo to get the wireless working?

Followed the directions given in the link suplied. Same results, it lists a Wireless connection, but I cannot connect to the router using WPA2.

I'll try no security to see if it is a WPA2 problem when I get a chance.

Disabled ALL security, didn't work.

Tried simple WEP, no luck there.

Any other suggestions?
