Desktop SIze

Ever since I've gotten Ubuntu, the size of the desktop wasnt as large as my monitor. It didn't bother me then, but its starting to bug me now. I fixed it a bit by positioning the desktop in the middle of my monitor, now it looks almost right but it still has a problem. It has a small black border around my desktop because its not fully sized like my monitor is. What else can I do to fix the size so my desktop can be full size as my monitor?

Have you looked at the settings in System > Preferences > Screen Resolution?

Also what make and model is your video card?

you really need to give more info for people to help what you tried already what video card or chipset are you running.What resolution do you want to run and so on.the more info you give the better it is for you.
