View Full Version : [ubuntu] no internet connection - vmplayer

Dear all!
just install ubuntu 8.04 on vm (host: winxp).
instalation finish ok.
the only problem - no internet connection.
enclose - network configuration of vmx file (create using vmx builder)
netwwork adapter type: vmxnet
network connection: bridged (connected directly to the physical network)

need help

1) "ifconfig" what does it say?
2) Have you installed the vmware tools?

Paris, From the post (as well as what I have done) is that the user created an installation (probably using the free VMWare server on a different platform, and then decided to run "player" on the Linux install). However, you could use VMWare's image link... http://vmware.com/appliances/directory/1224
