My wireless card is still recognized in the 'lspci' command but it doesn't come up as an interface in either of the internet commands. It used to be recognized as "ath0" but now it just doesn't exist.
I didn't need to do anything special to set it up the first time but after the update it just suddenly stopped working

Best way, try recompile your Kernel again.

Did you ever sort out the cause of this? Our family machine is doing exactly the same thing and I haven't been able to resolve it after several hours scouring these forums.

Thanks.
