problem

Hi everyone,
I am Khai Huynh, I am new user of Ubuntu
I am using Ubuntu 8.i386, when my Ubuntu starting, its font is very huge, I barely can see clearly. Moreover, when I running KDE4, the same thing happened. However, my Gnome is running well. Therefore, I am wondering if I can adjust that problem from GNOME environment. Please help me !
