"XvMC not supported" errors??? (on latest release & Intel chip)

I'm new to mythtv and just installed mythbuntu and upgraded to the latest version. I'm getting the following in the logs, and live tv is a little jerky. I'd appreciate any help.

I don't want to have to go back to Windows with http://www.gbpvr.com. Gbpvr is OK, it's the windows part I'm trying to avoid :)

Regarding Intel chipsets, odds are XvMC is not in Hardy for them.

Intel chipsets are often considered 'low-powered' but in fact the drivers have been deficient in enabling the capabilities of the hardware. For Intel chipsets, as of May 1, 2008, the intel driver which is included in most distributions does NOT enable XvMC, except on i810 and i815 chipsets. However, XvMC capabilities are now available through version 2.3.0 of the xf86-video-intel driver for ALL Intel video chipsets. This driver is presently available as a source tar from:
http://xorg.freedesktop.org/archive/individual/driver/xf86-video-intel-2.3.0.tar.bz2 or through git from

Most likely, you don't need XvMC. You just need to tweak your playback profiles. "slim" seems to work for most people.
