View Full Version : [ubuntu] Internal Microphone not working...

I realize there are posts about this and numerous blogs have written about the same thing. Yet, as much as I've tried, I cannot get my internal microphone on my Dell !420 to work.

I've updated the drivers, I've fiddled with alsamixer, etc. All to no avail. Concerning alsamixer, everything I've read mentions clicking on "Mic Boost" which I don't have as an option on my Gutsy Gibbon.

Does anyone know where I go from here?

There is an OPTIONS tab in the Volume Control...IN that there is a selection of source for mic..try switching that.

I've done that. The only way that helps is if I plug a headset into the computer and use it as a mic. It doesn't make the internal mic work.
