Is it possible to operate both WinXP Bit Torrent clients and Ubuntu Bit Torrent clients at the same time on the same computer?

Yes, with a virtual machine. Search vmware or virtualbox for further info.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but it's possible to run multiple bit torrent clients at the same time, I know that I tend to run the gnome bit torrent app alongside ktorrent when downloading lots of things.

i'd guess you'd need to set the ports differently if the clients are on teh same IP.

if you're using virtualization then the virtual machine should have its own IP anyway.

I believe it makes more sense to use only one since it will allocate the available bandwidth better.

Is he talking of dual boot or a virtual machine?

Well at the moment I'm using transmission alongside azureus and all is well.

If you are dual booting xp and ubuntu then there is no way you can run both, if this is what you meant.

uTorrent runs fine with Wine so you can run it alongside Deluge or Transmission or whatever you like.

You could even use the same port on both clients if you wanted.

Why would you want to though? I can't see any advantage.

I have no idea. One BT client does me just fine
