Hi peeps!!! new ubuntu user here but i ran in a snag right at the start :( i cannot seem to get the restricted drivers to play nice with my Asus EN8800GTX after the install i reboot..... well the system hangs... so i have to force it off then when loggin in i get a nice black background with a grey bar at the top with no text/icons and the system is non responsive... I reboot in recovery mode and choose reconfigure Xserver. got the desktop fixed but i cannot enable 3d effects everytime i install the driver it #@#%^ on me :o( anybody have a work around or perhaps it's something i've done?
NOTE : I installed ubuntu from a usb pen drive..
system :
E6600 + Asus Commando
2Gb ddr2 ram
Asus En8800GTX
SB Audigy 2ZS
Dell E228WFP monitor connected with dvi
