vmware workstation 6.0.3 on ubuntu 8.04

what is the easiest method of installing vmware workstation 6.0.3 on ubuntu 8.04? some forums that i have read recently indicate that successful installation is a bit difficult. thanks.

i recently found this article for installing workstation successfully.. basically the only difference with the install process on 8.04 (as far as i can tell from the instructions) is that the vmmon and vmnet module have to be patched before they can be configured successfully using vmware-config.pl- but it works!
