DVD's not mounting

Hi, I'm having problems with my DVD's not mounting. I've installed the restricted formats, and it plays CD's, but it won't recognize that I've but a DVD in it. Any idea on rectifying this? Thanks

Are the DVD's your using from a different region? What program are you trying to run the DVD's in? More info will help get someone out here to help you faster!

Thanks, but the problem would be that the DVD lazer is broken, I read though alot of guides and even retried windows and it'd seem to be that. Thanks anyway :)
