Hello,

I was wondering if it was possible to reduce the number of waves for the magic lamp effect to 0. What I'm trying to do is emulate the OS X genie effect. I looked on the forums and found an old post for gusty, but when I tried it, it broke the animation effect completely. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Is this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=557491&highlight=magic+lamp) what broke your animation completely?

Yea! That was the post.

Im sure if I reinstall the plugins from synaptic it should be fine. But that still doesnt give me the genie effect i want.

i just followed that post this afternoon, and it worked great for me. Make sure you use a hex editor (sudo apt-get install ghex) to edit the .so file.

That is what I did, i'll try re-installing and give it another shot. I'll also try setting my effects mode to none before I do the editing this time.

Update: Managed to try it again and it works like a charm. Thanks e'erybody
