Cannot find bind9 package

I am trying to use the command apt-get install bind9 and I keep getting this error.

root@susy-desktop:/home/susy# apt-get install bind9

I have also tried looking in the synaptic package manager but I cannot find it there either. I did find bind9-host, is this the same as the bind9 package at all?

thats strange, what are your repositories like(/etc/apt/sources.list)? are you using hardy?

as you can see.. I am using default repositories and it is available...

Seems like there have been some issues with ca.archive.ubuntu.com

I would try an update, and see if you can get a better listing of packages from them:

sudo apt-get update


If that does not help then you may want to try a different repository.

System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager -> Settings -> Repositories.

Click to the right of "Download from" and select Other. Then you can scroll to the section for Canada and pick one of the other repositories.

Or you can try the "Select Best Server" option after you have done "Other" from above, and let it pick one for you.

then use the search and replace feature to change all of the ca. to us.

This happen to me too. But when I did "sudo apt-get update" it got fixed.
