I installed HH this morning and was pleased to see that all of the buttons on my mouse functioned out of the box without btnx. However, the middle search button brings up tracker, and I would rather have it macro to ctrl+t to open new tabs in firefox. How can I do this?

Install btnx and let it only control the middle search button.

That worked as far as getting it to open up a new tab, but the tracker tool still pops up. Any other ideas?

Solved problem by rebinding Search in gnome-keybinding-properties.

macdelany, if you're still having an issue, just type "gnome-keybinding-properties" into terminal and an easy to figure out window will pop up.
