Cups - pinter head cleaning

I am trying to clean my printer heads. So I opened Cups and then selected the printer and clicked on the button which says Clean Print Heads.

I get an error message returned which says


EPSON_Stylus_Photo_R230_USB_2 "/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster failed"


Any idea what this means and how to fix it since I want to clean the print heads and the printer otherwise works .....

You can always do it manually (get some tissue paper and wipe them down)

no ... cannot .... I have external tanks rather than cartridges so I have no idea how to get it to bits ....

But the error message should also not be there ....

Well it sounds like the driver partly does not support your printer, and there is not much you can do about that.
