Update-notifier + gaming

The problem is, that when there's updates a little sqaure window pops-up and steel the focus in games. F.ex I was gaming American Army, when all of the sudden the notifier-thing popped up on the screen, and I couldn't close it before i quitted the game. It pissed me very much off.
Is there some way to disable it? Completely or take off the steeling of window focus.

Right-click the tray icon and turn of notifications.

File a bug about this as well. It should not be popping up above windows.

hit alt-enter and leave fullscreen then click it and continue your game how hard is that? you might have to goto the game console for the mouse to become active...

Problem is that when you're playing an online game, especially a First Person Shooter, a few seconds gets you killed. Things that pop up like that really annoy you, if you die because of it. Very bad idea to have a notification pop up over other windows, even worse to have it minimize full-screen games.
