I really want to like Ubuntu, but this is the worst experience I've had with a PC in years.

Since I installed HH on my AMD Xp 2000+ with 1 gig or RAM, my processor utilization jumps up to 100% when trying to do the simplest stuff.

What did I do wrong?

Go to System->Administration->System Monitor. Make sure you have "All Processes" selected under View.

Then keep an eye on what process is causing it.

Alternatively if you prefer the command like you can use "top"

Looks like nautilus and Xorg.
