I have a brand new install of gutsy on my computer and everything was working fine until I put some mp3 songs on my pc. Everything copied fine, but now I have a very weird problem.
When I rename files or folders, after about 10 or 15 files, x crashes and a file that has a gold note icon will change instantly to a white piece of paper once clicked. After that happens, every file I click on changes to the paper icon and no files or folders on the entire system will open. I can still run programs, though.
I did some googling, and it looks like the x window system is crashing. If I hit ctrl > alt > backspace, and restart X, the problem goes away. After I rename or open about 10-15 files/folders, x crashes again and I get the paper icon change.
Does this have something to do with DRM in the mp3 files? Is there a fix I can try? I'm running a Nvidia 8600 GT video card, if it helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
