IS there any way to view VPN connection error message details?

I have to setup a vpn connection to a microsoft PPTP, but I can not :-(
Unfortunately the tutorial located at http://fosswire.com/2007/10/13/setting-up-a-simple-vpn-connection/ does not give information about debugging and troubleshooting the connection.
the only error that it returns is:




Could not start the VPN connection 'General VPN' due to a connection error.

VPN Connection failed


Is there any way to see detailed error message?
