Function keys not functioning in Gutsy Gibbon :-(

I have Dell XPS M1530 with Windows Vista. I have installed KUbuntu - Gutsy Gibbon on it. I find that my function keys especially to increase/decrease brightness do not work in Ubuntu. They do well in the Vista which means there is no problem with the keyboard/hardware.

Did anyone face a similar problem ? Could someone kindly help me fix this ?

Found a solution :
$gnome-power-manager

and brightness function keys should start working !
