Hello.
I have posted this before but can't find it (even using "search") so here it comes again.
Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy, Nvidia GeForce 7200 PCI-E, Restricted Driver from repository, "Nvidia Settings" installed.
Everything works, even TV-Out! BUT...........
On the TV the resolution is just too large, or too small, whichever applies.
To explain, my monitor has a resolution of 1280x1024 native (Acer LCD) and when i enable the TV as a second monitor i can use either "twin view" (which stretches the wallpaper and AWN so it covers both as if they were one, which is horrible!) or "clone".
"Clone" is what i like but the problem is that the picture is too big for the TV and i can't seem to set the TV's resolution to 1280x1024 - the largest it allows for is 1024x768.
When i set the monitor to that resolution it all works fine, but looks horrible on the monitor again.
Is there a way to get the TV to either go up to 1280x1024 OR let the two screens have a separate desktop each so i can move a window (video player!) from the monitor onto the TV and watch it there fullscreen while doing something else on the monitor (the way it works in Windows).
I appreciate any help on this subject.... many thanks in advance.
