Was there a question here, or just a general statement?

More times than not, what your describing is a system resources (or lack thereof) and nothing to do with your OS. Secondly, it could be an issue with bottlenecking from your ISP, the server data center you're connected to and/or just general internet congestion.

What sort of system are you running? CPU speed and amount of RAM?

The question was: how do I fix it?
It's deffinately the OS, because I'm dual booting hardy and windows XP and It doesn't do it in XP. It's always done it in Ubuntu.

It's a Dell XPS 720
intell(R) Core 2 duo CPU
3.00GHz, 3.00 GB of RAM

I've seen lots of posts lately for people with similar problems. It seems that something is wrong with the flash player in hardy, as well as firefox 3 beta 5 having troubles with flash videos.
If you have hardy, just go out and install the flash player from adobe/macromedia's website. its its FF3b5, go back to 2 for now.
if its not either of these, try reinstalling it. if that doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you.

Oh, it's NOT the OS per say, but a component of the OS itself I see.

Yes, Ubuntu this time came with a beta version of Firefox (who knows why?).

You say it's "always" done it in Ubuntu. And how long exactly is "always?"

If you'd like help, then pose your threads as a question, rather than just making a blanket statement. When you pose your questions, give DETAILS about your computer system and exactly the problem your having... including full error codes (if applicable). Otherwise, the majority of people will pass you by.

Also, just for future reference, don't try to compare Windows (any version) to Ubuntu (any version of GNU/Linux). Apples and Oranges you see... Night and Day. Don't take that wrong, if you want to compare Windows to Ubuntu (or vice-versa), feel free. This isn't the place to do so though. You'll never meet a warm reception doing it here. So in a nut shell, if that's what ya want to do, setup a blog and have at it... capiche? ;)

You seem like one capable of figuring things out so search google and this board on how to uninstall the current version of firefox you have and go back to a stable version of it. It's a hot bed of topic ATM so another thread about it would just serve to clog the board even further. I'll be doing the same thing myself in a day or two when I upgrade to Hardy... searching what's been posted and using that info to fix it.

edited - PS, there was no question in your OP!

Well, you are certainly ONE of the unlucky ones. I've (and MANY others) never had a problem with flash... nor java.

At any rate, knowing I may have to address these issues after upgrading, I did a quick search.

This first link, sounds to be describing your issues. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=770827&highlight=firefox

This next link is to the search I ran on the forum.
http://ubuntuforums.org/search.php?searchid=40086701

Try the fix listed in this post http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=4813746&postcount=9 of the first link I gave you and see how that works for you. If that doesn't work out, revert back to the search results link I posted.
