I'm running hardy 64bit on a geforce 7025 (nforce 630a) changing the res using the install nvidia x-server settings doesn't help much. It will change the resolution but I lose hardware acceleration doing it. I have tried both the normal (restricted drivers) way and the envy method to change it. How can I change the res

UPDATE: Forced a resolution change using recovery mode, still lost hardware acceleration

I was having this problem too.

Go into the Applications > Other > Screen Setup (or something like that, at work at the moment so I can't remember exactly) then select or auto detect your monitor's manufacturer and model and it will allow a whole plethora of new and exciting resolutions.

...did for me anyway. Hope this helps.

How did you install Hardy. As a fresh install or upgrade from Gutsy et al?
