trying to get emerald to work as my theme selector

hello i have compiz installed with compiz fusion icon as well but when ever i select compiz as the window manager i can't control my windows the have no x's and can't move them i was wondering how i use emerald to use my themes with i have emerald install right it's in my compiz fusion icon bar and in system > preferences
