I just upgraded to Hardy and i seem to be having problems with my x server. Every time I restart my computer my screen resolution goes back to 800x600 and i have to open the nvidia settings, set it back to its original resolution. After doing this i always click on the button that says save to the xorg.conf file and it says that is does. but every time i restart this happens. also sometimes when i unplug the power the x server dies and i have to hard reset it by doing a ctrl+alt+backspace. I am not very gifted when it comes to linux or ubuntu as i am fairly new. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? it is very annoying and it screws up my panel icon order and such. any thing i can do to fix this would be much appreciated. thanks!
