how to connect to my dialup broadband internet connection at home? please help! As i am new to linux so please help! Thanks!

Dialup OR broadband, surely. I don't think it can be both. A broadband connection through a router is nearly always picked up automatically but wireless can cause problems depending on the modem/router. The USB modems given away with contracts by the ISPs are often difficult in linux (ubuntu) but in some cases can be made to work, though with the low cost of broadband ethernet modem/routers, in UK at least, that would probably be the way to go.

What hardware do you actually have at the moment that will not work? Let us know and it may be possible to help a bit more.

my connections looks something like this (attached file) in windows when my notebook is connected to internet via broadband dialup connection.

i think you mean dial your broadband connection :D .. in that case go to the terminal and type sudo pppoeconf and setup a connection
