View Full Version : [gnome] home and trash on gnome desktop

OK, I have been trying PCLOS gnome and foresight and I dont like icons on my desktop. There is two. The trash and home folder. How do I take them off my desktop?

To remove the icons press alt-f2 and enter gconf-editor, the easiest way I can remember is to search for computer (check both boxes) and one of the results will relate to desktop icons, click that and from there you will be able to find the preference for home and trash. (sorry can't be more specific as I am not on ubuntu right now)

I don't see how to search "computer" in gconf-editor. I have no clue how to get there.

To search in gconf-editor just press ctrl-F.

No problem, you may want to mark this thread as solved using the thread tools in the top right so that others know a solution exists should they have a similar issue.
