Update manager

I need help. I'm running Ubuntu 7.10. When I go to my update manager and choose it nothing happens. I want to upgrade to the new Ubuntu but I cant through update manager. I get no errors seems that the icon is there but it doesn't do anything

I know this isn't really helpfull as far as your problem goes but I strongly recommend doing a clean install.. I personally have never done a succesfull upgrade of any of the distributions and since copying over a home dictory to a fresh install is easy as hell it has my preferrence.

I take it you mean that in update manager when you click on the upgrade button that nothing happens, if this is the case it is most likely due to the fact that everyone is trying to upgrade there machines at the moment, if I was you I would give it a few days before trying to upgrade.

You could also make sure you have the fastest sources selected and this might make a different see the link below
