Whenever I try to install anything using the command line, add/remove programs or synaptic. It takes forever to download anything which usually something fails and can not be downloaded.
Is this just because 8.04 has just come out and the repos are getting more action then they can handle or is it something with the 64 bit version.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Has anyone gotten any updates since Hardy Heron deployed? I haven't seen any since about two days before Hardy Heron deployment....
Noticed that the repos have been very slow for the last few days...

Yes, having the same problem, that is it always takes awhile to download. Must be because of the new release.

It's taking forever for us, too, with Kubuntu. If Slashdot's any indication it's just the servers being hit hard, nothing to worry about just yet. ;)

Would that also affect the forums being so slow? It takes a couple minutes for each page of the forums to load for me but other websites load instantly.

It's because the Ubuntu servers are under heavy load at the moment from the 8.04 release. Give it a week or two and it'll be back to normal.

I am happy to hear they will get better.:( 1 week, I cannot refresh synaptic, and that worries me, will not reeboot till i can refresh.I want too, but that concerns me.
"Good Luck with the servers"

No updates as of this morning. My "Update Manager" is finally running properly, however.
The slowest thing on my rig is this forum. It takes far more time to open a thread than on any other website. This is unusual, but not uncommon.
