Has anyone managed to get this working in Ubuntu either via WINE - or any other way?
This is the only thing making me hang on to WinXP now.

Well I've tried it about a million times and never worked for me. But there is something very similar to called Flightgear [URL="http://www.flightgear.org"]

YEs - thanks -I know about Flightgear- unfortunately IMO the graphics - are nowhere near as good as FS2004.
I suppose the ultimate is Xplane but its a bit space-hungry if you want the complete scenery.
I'll keep trying.........................!

Have you tried it by yourself? I'm also curious, it would be nice to use it in Ubuntu!

Yes I've tried various ways with and without WINE and also with and without using a Virtual CD No4......nothing good to report so far.

I'm into FS2004 and flying with the vatsim community and so far it doesn't work under wine, at all. I'm now considering virtualbox and if that doesn't work I'll have to configure for dual boot. Problem is I'm totally Ubuntu right now and adding XP is I hear a pain in the neck and I can expect trouble. I've many $'s invested in online flight.

Last I remember, the entry for it in the AppDB was 'Garbage'.

Well I solved the problem - I installed FS2004 on a second PC running Windows XP!
