Ok I'm sure there are plenty of the same or at least similar issues on this this... BUT here is what I'm finding even after trying fwcutter and ndiswrapper.
lshw shows this:
*-network UNCLAIMED
description: Network controller
product: BCM4328 802.11a/b/g/n
vendor: Broadcom Corporation
physical id: 0
bus info: pci@0000:0c:00.0
version: 01
width: 64 bits
clock: 33MHz
capabilities: bus_master cap_list
configuration: latency=0
that would be the driver.. thinking the unclaimed is the issue and is therefore going to be the cure on this.
lspci shows:
0c:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4328 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 01)
iwconfig shows:
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
I have tried various sites both for the fwcutter and for the ndiswrapper but seems that in my attempts I cant find the driver for ndiswrapper from Windows xp and even dells site doesn't appear to have the right drivers.
ndiswrapper -l shows:
bcmwl5 : invalid driver!
netnwifi : invalid driver!
netw4k32 : invalid driver!
netw4x32 : driver installed
w29n51 : driver installed
that was going by sites and finding dell drivers that "was" the xp drivers for my pc and still got nothing working. Any sort of help at this point in time would be very very helpful.
