I knew I should have waited to upgrade to Hardy Heron, but I just had to do it.

Nautilus is totally unstable, and constantly crashes my machine. Tried reinstall Nautilus but was no help. The system is pretty close to unusable as I can't get to my files on my home folder or on any network drives.

If anyone has any ideas how I could at least make the system usable again that would be great. Oh and a fresh install is not an option I don't have a whole day to waste getting my system back to the way it was. I might as well be using Windows then.

I just got this error after force quitting Nautilus.
Nautilus can't be used now, due to an unexpected error from Bonobo when attempting to locate the factory. Killing bonobo-activation-server and restarting Nautilus may help fix the problem

Yes I am having the same problems. I also agree it is a serious problem. I think there is a bug report dealing with it on Launchpad but it is only of "medium" importance I would have thought this would have been of critical importance.

I hope it is being worked on and if anyone has any workarounds I would be grateful.

My nautilus stops working. When I double click on the icon, it turns blank and I can't open anything. So I go into system monitor and reset Nautilus and it fixes the problem. Happens once every few days. Im on edgy but will be upgrading to hardy soon.

If it is crashing your computer, have you tried any other file manager, like dolphin?
