Hi and this is just a thought. In the archive forum you are not aloud to make a new thread and that is great but you are aloud to post on a archive thread. It seems to me that makes a lot of searching for users trying to help. Is it possible to make it where no more post in the archive but the op can reference the thread in the new forum. You opinion it requested. :)

I think this is so there isn't a load of duplicate threads from the old forum in the new forum.

I'm sure eventually, posting in the Forum Archive will be stopped, but I imagine that "eventually" is going to be some time in the next year :p

I do not recall reading we were going to close posting in the archive, but I may be wrong.
The new forum allows posting with tags, and the older database could not be imported to support the feature. Hence the archive section open for posting (to continue support on previous threads).

The archive will eventually die out by itself, I think.

Okay, thanks. It was a new post to a year old thread. I moved it to its own thread with an [Ubuntu] prefix, and closed the old thread.

I think the best way to deal with this (like the general old threads revivals) is to report it so that Staff can move the new post out.

I know it is going against our anti-multi-thread-kinda-rule, but in this case is is legitimate to make a new thread in the new area :)
