Hardy Heron Release Party Manila

Greetings,

In the ubuntu-ph mailing list, we have started preliminary planning for the Hardy Heron Release Party in Manila. The tentative schedule is May 2, 2008 starting at 6:00PM onwards at a still unidentified area in the Ortigas Centre.

The purpose of this get together is celebrate the release of Ubuntu 8.04 LTS at the same time share the spirit of Ubuntu with a burnfest as some of us will be bringing our laptops and Hardy ISOs. It's also a good chance for people to network so please do signify your intention to join by replying to this thread.

Just to make sure, don't expect too much as:


We don't have pressed CDs for Hardy (yet). Instead, we can have a burn fest (I already have some ISOs)
There's no sponsor here whatsoever, its all community so we will have to shoulder our own expenses (drinks, food, etc)


There is also a plan to do it in Cebu as well. For those outside these areas, We encourage you to plan for a small but fun party as the main purpose is to congregate and get to know each other more.

Well, as I have observed in many gatherings. There's only one thing that will make it successful. Just a truck load of SMB ok na! Aside sa beer factor, punta din cna Jet Lee, Morales, at Pacman dun hehehe. :lolflag:

Ubuntu-PH Goes to Party

Last May 2, 2008, Ubuntu users from all over Metro Manila gathered for what was to be the Ubunu-PH Hardy Heron Release Party. Ok, so it wasn't really a release party in the strictest sense of the term. For one, there were no Hardy CD's going around (except for a burned Kubuntu DVD). And there was no beer! (But lots of caffeine to go around). Nevertheless, it was still lots of fun and an event worth remembering, and most of all, repeating.
