I've just installed hardy on the eee pc and now my microphone doesn't work. I've played with alsamixer and turned everything up but so far ....nothing.

Can anyone help.
Also having same problem with a Vaio TZ series but since i never had gutsy on it i dunno the story with that one. The EEE definitely worked in gutsy.

I haven't upgraded my eee's yet, but I'm betting someone has at http://www.eeeuser.com and I would also bet that if there has not been an update to the script packs that do it all for you, one is going to be within days of the hardy release. So hang in there, and if you want the easiest solution dig the eeeuser forums for a script pack.

Yeah i was thinking that. It just seems a little quiet over there at the moment.
And of course that still leaves the Vaio.
They both sport Intel HD audio though, so possibly a similar fix.

These folks working on ubuntu eee might be able to answer your question:

I'm looking forward to that release. The default Xandros setup is fairly clean and straightforward, but I do feel a bit constrained by it.
