g-force 66oo 256ram using hdmi output on a 42in Hitachi HDTV.
7.10 worked flawlessly and now this is just like being on acid.

Hi,

I just wanted to report that I had the same problem on a fresh installation with an ATI card (radeon Xpress 1250). I could fix the issue installing the proprietary ATI drivers using jockey-kde.

Best regards,
Sascha

I too am having a serious flicker issue, however it is only when 3D graphics are being rendered. For example, I've been installing World of Warcraft with Cedega and seeing serious flicker issues sometimes and not others (While I've done nothing to the video drivers between the flicker and the non-flicker). In addition, when viewing my screensavers in the preview window, they all have a really bad flicker. I don't have the flicker when I'm looking at firefox, or adding programs, etc.

According to the Hardware option I am using the restricted ATI driver already, even though I'm not seeing the Restricted Driver icon on the taskbar. Any suggestions?

I have the same thing on a SiS card. It's really annoying. I tried turning off compositing, but that didn't change a thing. The higher the refresh rate, the more it flickers. Any ideas?

*EDIT* Alright, I switched to the vesa driver and all is fine. Does this work for anyone else too?
