Just to clarify, is S76 is recommending AMD64 installation across the board?

Hello, Proud owner of a Daru2 and I'm especially excited to put hardy on my machine. I remember from some previous threads in the forum that a couple of people had recommended installing the amd64 version of ubuntu on their system76 machines for the upcoming release. I just wanted some more clarification because I've never moved to this format before. I just wanted to make sure before I go ruining my system.
