How do I configure my network interface to use a static ip address? I am using a Dell desktop with a wired connection. Is there a graphical way to change these settings?

Oh, using Hardy Kubuntu, kde4, RC-64 bit

Thanks

Shouldn't there be a network-manager icon on the upper right corner? (At least it is in ubuntu.)

If I remember well ( not sitting at my ubuntu box now) you have to go to
System > Administration > Network.

There you can change everything you want.

Oops, didn't notice that (just installed last night). When I right-click the icon I have a manual configuration option-selecting it does nothing.

But I can print! (couldn't do that in Vista) :)
