I have a P4 2.8 Ghz
I have ubuntu 7.10. (32 bit) When I type X -version i get:

X Window System Version 1.3.0
Release Date: 19 April 2007
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 1.3
Build Operating System: Linux Ubuntu (xorg-server 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-12ubuntu8)
Current Operating System: Linux old 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686
Build Date: 29 September 2007

Also i have a onboard sis661 graphics chip set? I have read a few forums/googled and it seems some people battle to get window managers/compiz/google earth working as SIS does not have open source drivers... so I looked around and found this:

http://www.winischhofer.eu/linuxsispart4.shtml#download

but the problem is that, i must copy the file sis_drv.so to the folder:
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/

but there is no modules folder inside the lib folder, only a "x11" which leads me to the fonts?

I dunno if i am making sense, but thanks for the help :-)
