I have read the pinned topics about amd64 and i386 before the forum upgrade (before they got moved.)

I read it, and it didn't help me at all.
It just has a list of topics of people asking "What's the difference between i386 and amd64?" and a few answers scattered here and there.

What I want to know is, is there a single post, a single topic that lists a detailed difference of Ubuntu i386 and Ubuntu amd64?

The short short version of the 64-bit argument:

Pro: more memory and registers available, therefore faster
Con: code uses more space and is less likely supported by closed-source apps
