Can't find Audacity

I just installed Ubuntu 7.10 on my laptop and I cannot find Audacity in the software installer. I even tried installing through the terminal. What's up? Do I need to update the system or download the package directly?

have you enabled the universe and medibuntu repositories? i know audacity is in one of them, because i managed to install it through synaptic, so it should be possible. here's a guide...
