View Full Version : HP USB scanner works; HP's software refusing to use USB

Scanner: HP ScanJet 5370c

Connected into USB port, is recognized & working via xsane. :)

However. Descreening & some adjustments are not available with native software.

So I tried installing HPs fully featured software, "PrecisionScan Pro" into WINE. During installation in Windows this software offers to install with USB or parallel support but strongly recommends USB; parallel isn't an option anyway as the port is used by a printer. During installation in WINE it skips the installation options where it offers to use USB or the parallel port. It will only install with parallel support. The program will then load fine but will report no scanner found (not checking USB). There is no option to change this after installation.

...ideas?
