I was following the instructions in the help documentation on playing DVDs. All was well until I tried to install libdvdplay0. The package doesn't seem to exist any more, is there some replacement for it?

regards,

G

Are you downloading it from http://www.medibuntu.org/ ?
I downloaded all the dvd-related packages from there and everything works fine for me

I'm just downloading the packages as instructed here : https://help.ubuntu.com/7.10/musicvideophotos/C/video.html#video-dvd

libdvdplay0 has been removed - no longer used, needed.

If you want to just watch dvds either finish guide or install vlc, libdvdcss2 and your good to go.

i would also add libdvdnav and libdvdread to install with libdvdcss2,they are part of the medibuntu repos and it doesn't hurt to install them.
