I have an odd sort of issue with Mythbuntu 7.10. I've been looking around the forums and don't really see it addressed anywhere, but here goes.

DVD's work/play/rip fine on the frontend. No problems there whatsoever. However, when i insert a CD, things get goofy. By goofy I mean this. The Cd will load fine, and I can put it into the playlist. Songs will start to play, but about halfway through the first song, the front end will freeze and I have to back out of the music portion. A similar thing will happen when I try to Rip a CD. The first song will begin ripping and will get part of the way through before freezing and going now ehere. I then have to cancel the rip and eject the CD before it will let me into the previous menu.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the MythMusic plugin. Is there any other course of action I can take?

I haven't seen any replies here yet so I thought I'd try to get some response by posting an update. Everything seems to be doing the same before. I thought for a moment that the DVD rip had also started to act up, but after restarting the computer, that cleared up. It may be a leftover from an update or something. Anyhow, I did some testing and the CD playing/ripping still is not working correctly. Playing movies, videos, and songs that are already on the computer work fine. I just cannot rip or play from a CD. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Side note: This may or may not be related but I've noticed that sound from DVDs/videos/music seems to be interrupted in some way. Interrupted in the sense that every few seconds to several minutes, there will be a hiccup, or a slight break in the sound for a fraction of a second. I don't notice anything happening to the picture, just sound on anything I happen to be doing.

Thanks

Hi, this may be a little late for you, but I had the same problem.
If you have it set to play the CD automatically, you MUST wait for the player to start, and then exit it before you can rip the CD.
If you don't, and it crashes, it will not rip until you eject the CD, and then wait for it to start etc.

In setup, you can disable CD autoplay. but I think you still need to wait for the CD to spin up before selecting import.
