I'm thinking of installing linux on my desktop PC
I had lots of issues on my laptop with almost every driver that didn't fit, so I'm not gonna try that again...
My desktop PC is a medion (I don't know the exact model or specs, because it's been dead for like half a year) it uses nVIDIA and linksys wireless
Is there a particular OS that will fit my PC, or does most distros support this?

If it is a decent computer try Ubuntu Hardy in a few days. If not go for Xubuntu or Fluxbuntu. If you want to try out a simple, fast Linux distro go for Puppy, and see if your hardware works with it. Just boot up a live cd. Also note that Fluxbuntu does not have a live cd, so test with one before you try it.

My computer can handle WoW on close-to-full-speed-but-not-as-close-as-a-monster-$ 5000-PC-would-be
Hardy is the new ubuntu right? Do they still fix bugs the last 5 days it takes until release, or is it just 5 days because they, like everything else, love making users wait?

I would assume every day counts, like writing a report. Any above average pc can run just about any linux distro to its fullest. Rarely you may encounter unsupported hardware. Try out the Ubuntu Hardy Rc if you want. Also you can try Gutsy, the current (for a few more days) stable version. I assume Ubuntu will run fine. Just remember to check the md5sum of the iso, burn at a very slow speed, and check the cd for errors.

What are the major differences between DreamLinux and Ubuntu Hardy Heron?
Both seem good to me... just can't decide

I have never used dreamlinux. Personally I use Ubuntu/Kubuntu Hardy. Try out the live cds of both.

Ubuntu'll work just fine...
If you need a faster distro, try Debian.
Dreamlinux is debian with XFCE - in that case, it's better to choose Xubunu, which is basically the same thing.

DreamLinux has Gnome as well
But what are the differences? I never used cmd/terminal/not-mouse-clicking
Is the terminal commands the same, with "sudo apt get" stuff?
I heard DreamLinux was the most customizable distro

DreamLinux is Debian based, as is Ubuntu. The differences will mainly be the look.
DreamLinux is pretty, and has a dock by default.
They both have GUI's and both use Synaptic (a GUI program that is easy to use)
Yes, the terminal commands will likely be the same. It may use su, not sudo. (su == type "su" then password then run commands)
DreamLinux isn't exceptionally customizable. I think Arch or Gentoo have that distinction.

My desktop uses an nvidia gpu which doesn't give me any problems. My laptop also uses an nvidia gpu which gives me nightmares.
I would recommend downloading a LiveCD and seeing if everything works. There's a Hardy Heron Release Candidate (http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/8.04/) out right now which should be fairly representative of the way Hardy will work with your system (if you're interested in Ubuntu).
If everything doesn't work out of the box, remember that it may still be possible to get it to work with minimal effort (nvidia graphics cards and screens of resolution greater than 1280x1024 come to mind).
