I am lab assistant in University of Latvia and we have a Linux power user course. Right now we planning new homework and I would like to ask for your ideas. Assignments should be practically useful. They should be solvable by first year computer science students that have just made their first steps in the Linux world.
We have thought the following assignments ourselves:
* Live CD customization where student has to alter Ubuntu live CD to make it suitable for network diagnostics and wardriving.
* Cloning solution for classroom where students have to find and adapt a solution to automatically clone 20 computers in a classroom.
* And some other ideas in progress...
Any advice on tricky assignments?
Thanks,
Orvils
