Hello,

we'll shortly begin to push new builds to our 'weekly builds' repository.

These builds will be created from the release-0-21-fixes branch. Anyone out there using 0.20 on Ubuntu Gutsy from the weekly builds repo will probably want to disable that repository in their sources.list.

Note: this doesn't apply to many people, only to those who're still running 0.20 on Gutsy.

I suspect this applies to LOTS more people than you might otherwise think, if posts on myth-users is any indication. I still see plenty of saying "still on 0.20" and "how is 0.21 working" type messages, and I have no reason to think that those same people wouldn't still be on Gutsy as well. I also suspect that only a fraction of a fraction of the people that have installed Mythbuntu will see your message posted to this particular forum. I'd suggest posting a high visibility message to myth-users, at a minimum.

Please note that I'm not saying your planned change is the wrong course of action, just calling attention that it probably impacts more people than you might guess it does.

True.

But keep in mind that not everyone uses the weekly builds.. I'll post a message to mythtv-users.

Ah - yes, I'd forgotten that you have to "opt-in" for the weekly builds. I'd still maintain that not many will see your notice here on the forum, but even still, that crowd is probably quite small, as you said. Sorry for the distraction.

So, weekly builds for hardy or gutsy?
I'm using .21 on Gutsy. :)

I haven't decided yet :) There'll be weekly builds for Hardy of course, and Gutsy will get at least one current build. I need to sort some things out beforehand, but it'll happen before Sunday I hope.

Laga please I beg you ;) please have the weeklys for gutsy for a couple of month! More then me who rely on other packages to be updated to the new kernel before an update is possible! I'm not interested in trunk only fixes!

Yes. I agree.

Okay :) Unless something major breaks, I'll try to get weekly builds for Gutsy and maybe feisty.

How do I enable or opt-in to the weekly builds for hardy?

How is it going?

I'm sitting here and update:ing my apt-get every hour so I won't miss your updates, it seems to be some trouble with the compilation and qt4 support. I'm getting error messages in my mythfrontend.log. So I'm very interested in the fixes release.

Hi,

It's getting pushed back because I'm investigating a problem in the 8.04 alternate disk.. I'll try to get to it tomorrow night.

There is no qt4 support in -fixes, it's just more problems with other things are coming up than I'd like :).

Hi,

I've pushed a build to weekly-fixes PPA for gutsy the other day. Assuming the mirrors are updated, you should be good to go: http://www.mythbuntu.org/auto-builds

Let me know how it goes.

Safe to upgrade to 8.04 when using fixes?

laga

I hope so ;) I don't see why it would break. I believe the version number is higher than what's in Ubuntu Hardy currently, so you probably want to use the weekly fixes for Hardy.

Hello!
Will there be a new fixes soon for 7.10 soon?? Or have you dropped the support already? I’m still a happy Gutsy user and will need a bit more time to become hardcore hardy user. Please keep the fixes for Gutsy for awhile.

Hi, it seems there have been no weekly builds for Hardy for three weeks now - I'm waiting for some fixes that I've been asked to test, so I was wondering when the weekly builds will resume...

Yup. I'm waiting for a new Hardy-build too.

I've just uploaded a new build for Hardy. The Gutsy one will upload in a few minutes. It should show up on the mirrors some time in the next 24 hours. Let me know if it works.
