I have been trying to hack together opengeu 7.10 into my Ubuntu 8.04 install, but it appears there are a few problems that I would like some clearing up to maybe understand better.
When I run sudo apt-get install opengeu-desktop I get an error saying some dependancies were not met. Among those, it says that E17 could not be installed. Further digging revealed that E17 could not be installed because it depends on E16.999 or something which it is unable to install. I found the reason behind this, I think. I have E16 installed, however, it's from the package called "E16" and not the package called "Enlightenment" which I think is not only causing this error but a few from E16 when I run it. When I try to installed "Enlightenment" the package, it says it doesn't exist in the repo so it must have been obsoleted or something like that (I'm assuming).
So, does anyone have any suggestions as far as how to hack this together maybe on the 8.04 system or maybe any info as to when openGEU 8.04 will be officially released?
I would just install 7.10 on this machine, however, I had a lot of frustration with it and 8.04 seems to run a lot better on the particular hardware this computer has in it.
